Sony’s 1st 3D animated and integrated email campaign

I had the honor and privilege with being tasked to create and strategize a fully concepted, from scratch, new Sony campaign that was to showcase during our annual Sony QBR pitch. In August of this year, Sony took one look at the new campaign and immediately ran with it in it’s September Digital Imaging email release. It was the first time Sony launched a 3D animated sequence inside of it’s email initiatives.

Process

The product was modeled, rigged and textured inside of Cinema 4D and rendered with Octane Render. Animation and composite was all finalized inside of After Effects. Although Harte Hanks didn’t have the aftermath capacity to handle support of 3D animation after I left, it was such an honor to be able to become a pioneer for the creative journey while I was there.

Alternate Masthead Animation

Although 3D was fun, animating inside of After Effects is always my go to for motion design. Using a few of Sony’s pre-made video assets, I was able to edit out the B-Roll needed to use to showcase the Vlogging experience inside a quick 10 second animation.
